Prepping For Your Self-Care Class
Arrive Fresh Faced
Please have freshly washed hands and a cleansed, makeup free face (and clean Gua Sha/tools) when you join the class. In order to create 'slip' on the skin, so that your tool glides rather than drags, prep with a face mist and then facial oil.
If you don't have a mist or oil then moisturiser or facial balm will work. You may need to apply it throughout treatment however, so it's good to have it to hand. If you enjoy the practice, then mist is a great way to lock in extra hydration as you work when you apply oil over the top.
Hair Up, Hydrate, Lip balm
If you have long hair I’d recommend wearing it up as we will be working the back of the neck and shoulders. If you have a fringe, you will need to pin it back for forehead work. Facial massage/Gua Sha encourages lymphatic drainage. You can get thirsty so a big glass of water and lip balm are also suggested. A mirror may also be useful if you want to take a closer look at the techniques you are practising.
Hot Water To Hand
If you are taking the Tension Tamer ( hot mushrooms) class please have some hot water in a kettle (not boiling) and a bowl handy to heat and top up your mushrooms. It can also be helpful to have a cup of cold water to cool them in if they become too hot. A small washcloth (or similar) to remove them from the bowl if the handles are hot is also useful. We will discuss other ways of heating them safely in class.
